10. Salicylates
First of all, you should be avoiding any foods that contain salicylates. These include artificial flavors, colors, or preservatives. This includes foods such as pastas, breads, sauces, and any crackers that may have this chemical in them. It is especially bad for arthritis sufferers because the salicylate affects both the mucous membranes and the blood cells within the joint. It is therefore believed that this chemical plays a significant role in causing or worsening arthritis.
